MY Top Ten!!

1)Went to Trent's cousin Troy's wedding last night in Mesquite, good food and we had lots of fun with family. It was a beautiful night to sit out on a porch at a golf course.
2)I had the opportunity to take some fun family pics for my wonderful sister in law Annie. We finally squeezed some family pics into our schedule. What a fun/easy shoot, her kids were perfect. I don't wanna toot my own horn, but I think they will be fabulous after editing is done.
3)I also edited pics the whole week. You never realize how much time every picture takes, all the small details until you have photoshoot after photoshoot. I am grateful for the work I have been getting, but it fills up a lot of my free time. 4)Almost 4 years ago today I became a mother for the first time. I had got induced, was able to start pushing fast, & then had to have a c-section to get my aweet baby girl Evelyn. 26 Months later I had a planned c-section and got beautiful little Lyla. As tough as pregnancy/C-sections are it is worth every second of pain, and every hard moment. I feel so blessed to be a mother and to have the gift of producing/creating children. What would my life be like without them? I would have a gaping hole in my soul.
5)For Mother's Day today I was able to sleep in. Trent and the girls came to wake me up. First I was handed a card from Trent. He wrote the sweetest words in it. I also found 2 coupons, he had typed up on the computer. 1)Entitled me to get new clothes 2)Entitled me to order some Lightroom Presets, that will help me to edit faster. Evelyn handed me a bag & I pull out a beautiful necklace/earring set that she picked out while in St. George yesterday with my mom. I wanted to cry, it had really touched me that she thought of me. It's fun to have your kids get older. I feel so blessed to have my wonderful hubby & family. How lucky I am:D 6)Today while Evelyn was sitting on my lap during sacrament meeting at church I noticed and pulled out a short gray hair, weird. All the gray hairs I have really stress me out. So, I was a little shocked to find it.
7)One week from today, my youngest brother Ty will be having his mission farewell. He is going to Perth Australia, I am really gonna miss him and so will the girls. He is the fun, young, uncle. I think he will love his mission and be a great missionary:D
8)Trent finally got his transmission, oh man, he is happy happy. I am happy for him, now he just wants to get out there and work on it. Hard to find the time. His graduation present from his dad is now complete.
9)I had a "I'm a bad mommy moment!". Evelyn was hitting Lyla a few times and not listening to me. She gave Lyla a hard hit, so the natural man in me, gave Evelyn a little slap on her arm. She started crying and felt way bad about it. Kept saying how I hitted her, I said I was sorry about 100 times, and held her and cried. It broke my heart...I really did feel bad, I told myself I will NEVER EVER DO THAT AGAIN. No matter what. I need to be Christlike while parenting. I got an F in my positive parenting book class that day. But, I can say I learned from it!! And my heart has been changed, I love my girls so much and I never want them to remember me losing my temper. I am really going to try to work on taking deep breathes & leaving the room before I open my mouth and respond. Ya live ya learn...
10)I have been staying on top of keeping my car clean. I wash it once a week. You may think I am crazy, but honestly I have it down to a T, and can do it fast. My car is so nice, and wasn't cheap, so I want to take care of it the best I can. I love it so much, and really look forward to driving it. Every time I get in it, I think it is totally worth every penny. It is such a great upgrade for our family.
11) I forgot to add in that I got to judge the cheerleading tryouts. So so fun for me, I loved ever second of it. It brought back so many memories, and I felt like I was trying out myself, it's like I could feel all the pressure and nerves of the girls. They were so adorable, and it was a little tough to be the judge.

Heard Around The House....

Lyla: Walked into her room to change her after she woke up: Me "What did you dream about Lyla?" Lyla: "Poop". Me: Really you dreamed about poop?" Lyla: "Ya...Poop" LOL Evelyn: "Mom can we go to Old McDonald today?" I want to eat the fries". Me: Not today sweetie, its so cute I didn't want to correct her. As we are in Walmart, she was holding her nightgown & I touched it with the cart (I only get her out if the cart is packed full, it was) "You stupid mommy you touched my nightgown". Oh the shame, anger I felt. I calmy told her we don't do that. As I am trying to think about what my positive parenting book says. Oh, Please let age four be easier than age three. Please oh please...... As we are getting produce Walmart, walks right up to the broccoli and takes a bite out of a small loose piece, then pokes a hole into the squishy tomato, embarrassed I was. That was one of the hardest shopping Walmart trips ever. Sheez....Lyla was good the whole time. As I whisper, "Don't ever be like your sister ok!" in her ear. *Evelyn's friend make believe friend Amy dissapeared ...which is kinda nice. Cause I was getting tired of telling the know it all to go home. lol

Weekly Ten...

1)I took my brother Ty's mission pics Monday, it was fun we went to the Res & then took some around my house. I can't believe he is going on a mission. How can that be, he is one handsome guy. And I know he will be a hard working missionary. 2)I also took some prom pics for 2 couples. Taylor Zundel texted me and asked me if I could do it. $50 a couple plus she gave me $50 more to take some of just her daughters. So I scored $150. Awesome, while I am editing them, I will be glad I got payed that much. I have been taking lots of pics now. Not getting payed for every shoot but its still fun!! Lots of hours on the computer now. 3)I had the opportunity to sub Annie's Zumba class for Pilates. She had mastitis, (poor girl) so we made the class free and almost everyone stayed. I think I got some new people to convert over to Pilates. It was a really cool experience for sure. Thanks Annie & everyone who hung in there to try something new. 4)I did really good at not turning the TV on for the girls during the day this week. It lasted until the weekend and then I gave in. But during the week they were so much happier without it. We bonded a lot more too. 5)I was way proud of myself, I got a homemade playdough recipe from pinterest and I really love it. I spent 2 1/2 hours making 6 colors on the stove. I used neon foot coloring. This stuff is so cool, so soft and it makes so much. The girls love it, I will not be buying playdough ever again. 6)I also got my diffuser from the health food store. I have been waiting for it a long time. They have been on backorder. You put essencial oils in it and it diffuses it perfectly in your home. I use lemongrass, lemon, and eucalyptus oil in my kitchen and it makes it smell so fresh and clean. 7)The other day Evelyn walks into the kitchen and says "Mom, why do you always never do the dishes, they are dirty all the time.....thanks Evelyn"!! *Whats sad is it's kinda true. 8)Lyla is talking more and more every day & is becoming more dependent and pushy with Evelyn. Starting to stand up for herself, you go girl. I always warned Evelyn that Lyla would soon start hitting her back. ha ha 9)Trent painted and put his gas tank in his Mustang, it's coming along nicely. He is just crossing his fingers that his transmission will be here this week. 10)I hit my one year for teaching pilates on Wed!! It was very exciting to me, and I feel like I have come such a long was as a teacher since then. I love being a pilates instructor so much! What a rewarding year. **THese are the girls in their Easter Dresses, I didn't have a working camera at the time so ya.

Weekly Ten

1)Tues. I drove Kylee, Maddox, Lyla & I to St. George. Lyla had been having a fever for the last 4 days and then she had some red spots show up all over her body. I talked to a woman at pilates & she said it was probably Roseola, but I still wanted piece of mind. I left Evelyn with my mom and Kylee was down visiting for a little over a week. She wanted to come with to get them out of my moms house, I wanted the company. So off we went, I headed to Redrock Pediatrics because I am on the lookout for a new place to take Lyla. I found it, holy amazing. Really nice office and really professional. I had been taking the girls to Mesquite they have a doc in a clinic there, but I wasn't too impressed. Lyla was almost her normal self that day. I was excited because she had 2 BM's that day, she finally started to eat and drink. The doc said that he was Jeff Keel's Uncle I loved it. She did have Roseola and was on her way to being fully recovered soon. I will be going back from now on. Thanks for the recommendation Annie!! 2)We went to Inside scoop on Mon. I took just Evelyn cause Lyla was sick. We met up with Kylee and Maddox again. Had a fun time together. Afterwards we walked into Home Hardware and while walking out the door Evelyn thought it would be fun to take a paintbrush and not tell me. When we walked outside I asked where she got the brush, "I took it she said". So, I had to go knock on the door, (they were closing) and tell the lady what happened. Evelyn felt bad and the lady got after her....Um excuse me but I am the mother here not you. I was more annoyed with her than with Evelyn. 3)We played with Breya, Nolan, Kinley, and my sister Elliah. They were down from St. George for the weekend. They had a blast outside by the horses. 4)Elliah mainly came down for me to do a photoshoot of her Kinley who just turned one in March. Here are a few pics from her shoot. It was lots of fun. 5)I finally got my fitness mic back for my class. Oh I love love it. After waiting for a month, it was worth it. They gave me a brand new mic, there fitness version. It rocks and I love being able to blare my music again and not have to yell. 6)We went to the Stake 100 year celebration, it was really neat. The displays there were so neat to look at. The history of this valley and stake is very cool. Evelyn had fun playing games and we had fun seeing lots of people. 7)I broke out my sewing machine & got a little sewing lesson from my mom. I made a fabric camera strap for my camera, in teal. You can see it in this reflection pic of me. BTW I am loving my new camera and lenses. Upgrades are so much fun. 8)The girls got to play a lot this week with irrigation water. Here are the pics to prove it!! Lyla's new work of the week is ya ya. You ask do you want this? Ya, Ya, Ya, it is so so funny. I love it, she also says purple too. 9)I am addicted to my supergreen/protein Sunwarrior shakes. I have one every day and have lots more energy. This guys who owes a health food store here in Overton came up with a fabulous protein shake mix from vegatables, I buy the vanilla one. But, chocolate is great too, when I went to fill up on the protein powder I discovered a new supergreen powder. Someone there suggested I put the supergreens into my protein...and Vaboom....I have one healthy meal. Plus I feel better when I don't get all my green veggies the supergreens are full of them. 10)Our whole neighborhood is changing so much. The Hawkins just sold their home. Very sad because I love Leslie she comes to pilates and is such a treat to be around. We still have nobody across our street in the Cambell's old house. Rumor is a retired couple is gonna move in there, we really need some young kids on our street. But, really like the quiet of retired people too. We shall see.

Our Year Mark!!

The 23rd of April this month marked the day we moved to Overton, NV. We moved the day after Trent graduated from BYU, to a house that was draping plastic on the side and bugs flying everywhere in it, for months. It took about 3 weeks for them to complete the new part of the house. Then we had the daunting task of priming and painting it all. After all the hard work, it looks great. Here are some pics I took right around when we moved here of the house. Hope you enjoy them. Sadly I am the worst at taking before and after pics of what the house looked like before we fixed it up. I know I am lame, happily we have got all of the major projects done that we wanted to get done. My goal was to do them before the year mark, wahoo. It feels so good. I thought I would have a really hard time leaving Provo, UT and moving back home. I thought it was really fun to be up there on our own, and in the school zone of life. But, now I love being close to family and having our own place here, it really feels like home here. I love the quiet feel of a small town. I remember when we first moved in one thing we loved was our huge yard, the girls could really explore and we didn't have to worry about a car hitting them, our road in Provo was so busy and people would fly down it. Trent and I would wake up to bullet bike races at 2 AM, I wanted to shoot those dumb boys, trying to show off for probably the girl riding on back of them. (I h.a.t.e. bullet bikes, and think they should be outlawed) Now we go to sleep to quiet. Ahhhh. So, glad to be here but miss Provo sometimes. So grateful for our house and family & that I can teach pilates & Trent has a job with his dad. I don't know what we would do without that.

I, I, I, I Work Out!!

I searched for and found a friend of mine I had met at the Gold's Gym in Provo Utah. Her name is Wendy Chatfield and she taught a pump class and a yogalates class. I started attending workout classes when we moved to Northern Utah five years ago. I loved working out in a class setting. It really was so much easier and funner than by yourself. It forces you to work oh so hard, and keeps you motivated. Whenever I would attend classes I thought how cool it would be to teach a fitness class. All the instructors were getting paid to work out, how cool was that??? Very. plus they were inspiring/helping others do that. They were the freaking bomb in my eyes. I have always been passionate about working out. My sister in law Annie Leavitt and I went to the gym sometimes together. We knew we were both heading back to the valley after our hubbies were done with construction management to take over their Dad's Electrician business. We talked about how much we loved to work out, and how screwed we were when we moved back to Moapa Valley, NV. We joked how we should both teach a class to stay in shape. Life moved on she moved back and started teaching her Zumba Class, oh man I was so excited for her, and excited I would at least have her class when I moved back. Then I thought oh wait I want to do this, if Annie can do it so can I. Then I thought about what I wanted to teach. I had really liked pump and pilates classes. Pilates mostly, I loved how well it toned you and balanced your mind out. So, I looked into it and certified myself. I was stoked to move back and now had something to look forward to. Now I have taught pilates for a year here and am so happy doing it. It completes me and my week. It gets me through my hard days and a mother/wife/woman. Thanks to Annie & Wendy Chatfield for your support and inspiration!! Annie I've said it once and I will say it again...."We rock for both teaching and changing this fitness of Moapa Valley. We are the coolest chicks around!!"

Our Week In Ten ....

1)I finally received my new camera a Canon 60D. Oh boy, it does video and is such a huge upgrade from my old 40D, that just stopped working after it getting fixed twice. Some of these pics are taken with it.....ahhhhhhh so so excited. 2)It reached over 100 (102) here today in NV. I am not ready nor prepared for the hot triple days ahead. UCK 3)Took a Mesquite trip with my sis Kylee, her son Maddox & my Mom. Best part is we all fit in the Denali, it was great. We went to Walmart, got Subway and went to the park there, which is so well kept and taken care of. Soft grass and a covered play area...if I lived in Mesquite I would be there a lot. Not fare our town doesn't get squat!! Then we went to the REc center which wasn't that cool, plus Lyla was so overtired. 4)Speaking of Lyla she has been a monster this week. The past 4 days have really been hard with her. She has been teething teething teething, and she won't eat, has had a fever for about 3 days, and her gums are so swollen and red, I can see the sharp teeth trying to make their way through. I have been trying to have patience with her, but can't take much more days like this. I need my sweet happy Lyla back. 5)Evelyn has had a pretty good week, minus the major talking back. I just keep telling myself I can do the Positive Parenting Thing.....I think I can I think I can, I know I can I know I can! 6)Today just Evelyn and I made it to church. I had to do sharing time and Lyla still wasn't happy. I had fun with just Evelyn and I and felt like we were able to have a connecting moment during those few hours today. In sacrament I told her to sit reverently and put her feet down, because Jesus is watching and wants us to be good in church. Her response.."I just asked Jesus and he said it was ok!" I couldn't help but laugh out loud clever clever girl. 7)We went to visit Ty & Annie and the girls all played in the water and mud. They have this water slide thing full of awesomeness!! Evelyn loved it and Lyla played in the water with her feet only. Those girl cousins have fun together. 8)We had some dead limbs cut off from the trees and I helped Trent move them what a chore and process, the trees look so much better. 9)Trent also mowed down our lawn, I really wanted to use the good weeds we had to take pics, he doesn't not mow just for my photography needs, dang it. 10)Today we had a bday party for Trent dad Rod. We had great food and amazing cinnamon roll cupcakes my adorable sis in law Taryn made. They were the best part of my week.
