Our Lovely Lyla:)

So, I am a photographer who hasn't been able to go all out on a photo shoot for a while. I would love it if I had really neat props for newborns and could do an outside shoot, but its just not happening. Recovering from a 2nd C-section and trying to balance my time with 2 little girls....I don't have the time or energy to do much. Poor Lyla I know she won't be getting as many photos taken of her as a baby like Evelyn did. It's so different than having just one to look after. Trent helped me take these the week my mom was staying here. These are all face shots, but I feel like they are very cute of her, and liked how most of them turned out. I am trying to not feel like a failed photographer who has no skills lately. I haven't shot anything stunning in a long time....and that's hard on me. Guess I will have to live with that. I have 2 beautiful girls and they are where my time should be going anyways. It is so worth it!!

Heard Around The House.....

Trent: C'mon Evelyn its time for you to take a bath.
Evelyn: 5 more minutes.

Trent: Can you go find Daddy's shoes Evelyn?
Evelyn: (After Looking) I find Daddy's shoes not.

Two Is Better Than One....

These are some recent pics I took in the last few days. (Trent's camera so not the best quality). But, I love our new stroller we got for both of them. We had a blast taking it out for the first time to the park. We think it feels like a limo but its nice. Evelyn is a great big sister and good helper. How we love our Evelyn and Lyla to pieces:)

Welcome Lyla Jane Leavitt!!

She is here, our Lyla Jane. We are so happy to finally have her. Mostly me (I was miserable). So quick story about our hospital experience. Trent and I went in at 5 am Thurs. They hooked me up to an IV and we sat around for a while. Then Trent stayed & put on the clothing for the operating room. They wheeled me back and I was pretty nervous thinking what was ahead of me. It was scary, I will admit, and strange being awake for that. It's crazy getting a spinal..ah the joys of a c-section. But, all around it went pretty well. All of the doctors and staff did an excellent job. I love my doctor and he did excellent once again. The recovery this time I think has been a little easier. We were at the hospital from Thurs.-Sun. I just love that hospital, they have an excellent woman's center that really takes care of you after your baby. Amazing nurses who I loved talking with throughout the days and nights I was there. I made some friends for sure. Plus my old friend Tessa from our ward in Orem was able to bath Lyla & Trent got to watch it all.
It's different with 2 kids. Evelyn still is unsure what is going on. Has had a hard time adjusting. But, every day gets better. Hopefully in a few months I will get the hang of having 2 kids. Right now I am a little overwhelmed.
She has everything that Evelyn got that we wanted. Hair, eyelashes, dimples, and my skin tone. We think she looks like Evelyn's sister but has her own look as well. She is so sweet and really great about sleeping and eating. Has never liked a binky so we don't use one. But, we are relieved cause the sleep program I do we wouldn't use it much anyways. We love being a family of four. Enjoy the pics:)

Here We Come!!

Thursday morning at 5 am Trent and I will be driving to Timpanogas Hospital in Orem to get this little Lyla out. My c-section is scheduled for 7:15 on 7/15 cool huh? Of course she prob won't be born on that exact minute. I can't believe this time is finally here...FINALLY! These are my glitter toes! I had my friend Amy do them for me. They are awesome, and beautiful and the sparkle never fades from them. I wanted to have something I thought was pretty on me in the hospital. Since I have to stay at least 3 days recovering from a C-section. My wonderful mom is coming up tomorrow to babysit Evelyn while we are at the hospital & the following week after Lyla is born. I really don't know what I would do without her. She is so generous with her time when her daughters have babies. Evelyn is sooo excited to have her here.
So here is my last belly shot and I jokingly did this face and Trent took the photo. I thought it was kinda cute cause it expresses how happy I am to really get this baby out. Bring on the c-section and recovery and everything that comes with it. We cannot wait to meet our little Lyla. Next post we will show her off....so stay tuned:)

Our 4th Of July!!

On July 3rd we planned a dinner with some friends from our ward. The Staley's & Shiefers. We had great Mexican food, and great dessert that was very patriotic. A fruit pizza flag & red, blue, & white jello. That Amy & Brittany made. Here is Evelyn with their cute boys. Jason is 20 months and Hayden is almost 3. They had lots of fun together. We ate dinner, played the wii, and did sparklers and poppers outside. We had so much fun with them. Thanks for coming guys:) That night after we put Evelyn down we watched the fireworks from Stadium of Fire on our lawn chairs.
On the 5th Trent and I took Evelyn to watch the parade, we didn't stay the whole time. Evelyn really enjoyed watching the bands and floats. Didn't get any photos of that day. We had fun celebrating Independence Day this year.
