Hudson Todd Leavitt Has Arrived!!
Well he is here!! I has taken me a while to get the birth story on here but I am determined today!! Hudson is perfect and now 3 weeks old. He came early and was perfectly healthy!
Here is what happened. The morning I was 37 weeks along, that night I woke up with some contractions, and then I got the shakes, pain in my back and down my legs and felt icky to my stomach. I tried to ignore these symptoms until I could no longer. I woke up my husband and told him I was concerned we needed to head to the hospital. He was a little skeptical at first and told me to take a bath and see if things changed!! They didn't I called my mom, then the hospital, then my mom again trying to figure out what to do. Then I called on the one who just knows, Heavenly Father and felt very strongly we needed to make the hour drive and this was it.
They checked me in and then checked my cervix and I was at a 4. I thought I maybe would be. You see my two doctors today me that if I was 37 weeks and at a 4 or more they wouldn't let me go home and would just take my baby. The nurse went and talked to my doctor, and checked me 30 minutes later and I was close to a 5. She again went to report to my doctor and came back with the words. Today you will have this baby!!
Dr. Chalmer's who helped me conceive came in to talk to me. I was happy he was on that day to do my c-section that day. He made me feel at ease with everything. I knew that everything would be ok, Although I was starting to freak out trying to mentally prepare for another c-section, and having only 3 hours until the surgery. But, the staff and my nurse were amazing. I had good experiences when I had the girls but nothing like my experience for Hudson.
They rolled me into to the operating room and had me climb out of bed and get up on the table. I tried so hard to remain calm in all of it. They didn't strap my arms down this time, it was nice to be able to itch my nose and feel a little more free. They did a good job helping me with it all. They started the surgery at 12:00 pm and had him out by 12:10!! It was my best experience yet in the operating room yet!! When Dr. Chalmer's pulled him out he said " He came eating a sandwhich", because of his chubby cheeks, it was so funny. He had so much hair and right away the nurse layed him right beside my head which was a neat experience. Trent also cut the cord with encouragement from the nurse, but he is so happy he did it now. Since Hudson will most likely complete our little family!!
He came out perfect and healthy and I was so thankful Hudson didn't have to spend time in the NICU at all. It was such a great blessing. I had the best nurses and staff helping us out. The girls were not able to meet him in our room. Since this year has been horrible with sickness we had to show the girls Hudson through a window. They didn't get to see me at all. But, they handled it so good. They have been so wonderful welcoming their brother.
I splurged this time for my recovery and got a bellefit corset made just for c-sections. It has made my life. I have been able to walk and get my stomach down a lot faster than with the girls. So worth every penny.
I am in so in love with Hudson and he is the sweetest most handsome little boy. He looks like Lyla when he sleeps an like Evelyn and Trent when he is awake. I know I am in there somewhere too. He got my dark skin. He seems even darker than Evelyn was as a baby. I feel so lucky that Heavenly Father sent us a boy to have in our family. I really feel complete with him. Here he is in all his cuteness!!
