The Weekly Ten :D

1)We went and picked out carpet in Mesquite for our place in Logandale. (Also picked out counter tops but don't know when we will be able to do that). We have been unable to clean our nasty carpet in Provo due to someone not sealing the floor beneath that carpet....hello!! Who was the dummy that did that? N-E ways we are not going to stand for crappy carpet anymore. If we will be in this house for a while before we are able to build we want it nice. We found a beauty on sale, and they are supposed to measure our place today. Yay!!
2)Lyla Jane turned 8 months old. Can't believe it. She is attached to me by the hip lately. I can't leave the room and she wants me to hold her at all times. Sometimes its hard to get stuff done but I love it. She digs her face into my chest and just sits there. This is my most favorite thing of all. I can't get enough of her cuddles with mommy. She is so sweet.
3)Evelyn is at a point where I can feel she is officially POTTY TRAINED!! Hooray, all the hard work payed off. I am pleased we got her to this point before she turned three. Trips are oh so fun now, helping her go potty on the side of the road. Hey, at least she isn't going in her pants.
4)We bought a sweet hot pink Wii controller Evelyn and I picked out and got Wi-Fi which is amazing to have.
5)Got a visit from a very dear friend, Chelsea Greaves yesterday. It had been way to long and was so great for her to see how the girls have grown and get some much needed girl talk in. Love you Chels!
6)Got to show our house to a couple that will most likely become the new renters for a while. The girl was average height but her hubby was 6'6. Wowzers, he had to duck his head in order to walk into the other rooms. I haven't seen someone have to do that since my Grandpa Askeroth passed away. He was also 6'6. SO TALL RIGHT? And he used to be taller and be an amazing basketball player. Miss him and his wonderful one on one talks. It's was his b-day yesterday.
7)Attended our ward Relief Society's yearly birthday dinner last night. It was so nice to get out by myself and be with other sisters. The RS program is really awesome and I am so grateful for it. I am very grateful for visiting teaching and how much we help each other out. It has been really fun being in this married student ward for these past 4 years. We have made sooo many friends and it was a great break from the traditional family ward. You are all in the same boat with school and kids. Its so easy to associate with other couples. On to the Overton 4th family ward for the rest of our lives soon. We are excited for the changes moving will bring.
8)I bought and received Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld from ebay. It is the best cook book I have ever opened. It teaches not only how to incorporate veggies and fruits into every day meals, but how to get your kids to eat raw fruits and veggies better. Can't wait to dive into the whole thing, & get moving!
9)Trent had 2 more days of working at Autozone...and so close to being done with school. And since there is an end in sight it is hard to stay focused and want to go to work for even one hour. But, he always has a great attitude about everything and goes with a smile on his face.
10)Ended my very successful shopping spree for spring/summer clothing. And man I did good. With the amount I had I really got lots of great things. And it payed to look, look, and look some more. I was very picky with what I bought. I found some amazing deals. Ok the place to buy great skirts that are way on sale and great quality. Ebay. So awesome I think I got one skirt that was regularly $40 for $20 and a skirt that was $79 for like $8. I also found some amazing swimming suits at Modbe on sale for $10 per top and bottom. Oh I never buy new suits cause they are so expensive. But I was able to get 2 new ones with this deal. And they are super duper cute. I got a shirt online that was regularly $21 bucks for $2. SALES ROCK. I finally am going to feel normal and cute once again after having my 2nd baby. Plus I was stoked while trying on jean shorts and capris. I had never fit into any of those sizes before. It was a miraculous feeling, even after 2 C-sections. I guess all the hard work of doing pilates daily, lifting weights, & the Zumba Wii game is working. It really is possible, and anyone can do what they put their mind too:D
*One more thing is we received a new niece, and cousin. My sister Elliah had her baby girl a few days ago. She was able to have her 1st epidural, and she had a very nice delivery, pushed once I think. Her sweet baby girl is named Kinley Paige Terry. Paige comes from my lovely Aunt Paige (Askeroth) Olsen who is so the sweetest/neatest person. We are so happy for Elliah, Jeremiah, Breya, & Nolan who get to welcome her into their lovely family. Newborns are so neat, whenever anyone has one you get that same warm/fuzzy feeling inside. Nothing beats it.

Lookie What I Found...

This past weekend we went down to Logandale, NV to move some of our stuff and pick out our carpet for our house we will be moving to in a little over a month. We didn't have much planned for the weekend. So, my mom and I got up early Saturday morning and went to many many yard sales. They started doing them in our valley there were probably about 20 going on all over town. We probably made it to about 5 or 6. But, it was so FUN to go and look and look. Trent watched the girls while we had a wonderful time. At first I got a large mirror for my exercise room, then I found some really great wooden blocks for Evelyn. Next I found a entertainment type piece of furniture but didn't want to pay $40 (tried to offer about $27 but no luck) didn't think it was worth that much so I left. The next one we went to was the motherload of all yard sales. Oh it was soo big and so awesome. Right when I pulled up I saw these gorgeous chairs. Three of them lined up in a row. I got out and basically raced to them. Asked about them, and was told $5 for each of them. At first I was only going to get 1, then I thought I wanted to get 2 to possibly photograph a couple or something. Then I found this beauty of a headboard. Isn't it sooo neat? Perfect condition and oh so neat and pretty. I had to have it how much for this? $10 was the woman's reply. I was so giddy and excited! I am glad I had Trent's truck. Pulled it around and started loading the chairs. The man who helped me load them said. Now, you know your going to take the third chair right? I asked if he wanted more for it and he said nope. We just want you to take it. Then I loaded this gorgeous headboard. The woman kept saying bless you, oh your wonderful for taking these. She was really sweet. As a photographer I am always on the lookout for props and such. All this for $20 plus a really neat quilt that went with the headboard. SCORE. I couldn't be more excited to be the new owner of them.

WHAT WE LOVE!

Today on my mind was all of the things that Trent and I love in life currently:
1)Each other, and our beautiful, fun daughters.
2)The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, our foundation for our marriage.
3)Our Bed, best wedding gift from his parents. It never disappoints every night it is so rewarding climbing into our bed. If only we had more time to lay on it.
4)Trent putting in his 2 week notice at Autozone today, OH HAPPY DAY!!. Four years later he is so ready to move on from working here. It has been a great place for him to keep up on his Spanish though. Only thing he will miss about it. Bye Bye late closing hours.
5)Our Wii we purchased yesterday, and got tons of games put on it. It's a win win for everyone. They have fun Disney ones, fitness, & all the other games Trent loves to play. Also, we love watching Netflix through it. Netflix is the coolest:D It's funny my grandparents were the ones that really convinced us to try Netflix. Thanks Grandma Leslie & Grandpa Ron.
6)The shows: The Middle, & The Office, must sees every week for us.
7)Not having a car payment is pretty flipping nice, we keep telling ourselves that every time we see a nice black GMC Yukon rolling by.
8)Date nights rock.
9)We actually love that we grew up together in the same town, same grade, and knowing the same people. It makes for awesome memories. Also the fact that him and my twin sister Kendra liked each other in middle school. I am always teasing him about that one. he he.
10)We have been so fortunate to have been able to qualify for Medicaid while I was pregnant for both Evelyn and Lyla. It really is an amazing blessing for students. Has saved us thousands of dollars, that we really didn't have. We also should thank Trent's parents Rod & Camille for helping us out so much while Trent has been at school.
11)We love our in laws and are so glad for that. And the families we have married into.
12)The fact that we made it through his mission....or more like I made it. Without dating once. I am so glad I didn't date once and have to explain later. But the truth is there was really NO DESIRE for me to date anyone else. Those were some really hard 2 years. We have a great story to tell our posterity though. I had lots of support from people. But, I also had a lot of people doubting me the whole way. It's ok I just sent them a wedding announcement and that was that. Booyaa.

The Weekly 10:D

Here Are A Few Things Lately With Us:
1)Evelyn is obsessed with her baby doll and doing just what I do for Lyla with her baby. It's pretty cute but sometimes I have to remind her that Lyla's needs are more important than her babies!! ha ha
2)Lyla is crawling everywhere, and now well I have to actually watch her constantly. Time to baby proof I guess. She also realized that if she screams and cries she can usually get what she wants pretty fast. I feel like she has become a grown up baby this week.
3)Trent started his golf class this past week and is really enjoying it so far. He wants to improve his game, he loves playing with his brothers and dad.
4)I have been shopping for spring/summer clothes this week. Packing the girls with me just one day. Trent watching them the next. I decided that I am pretty picky when it comes to buying clothing. I usually love Forever 21 but honestly if you want to cover up garments they don't have much. I was in Buckle for a second and was looking at some jean shorts....ok they now have layaway for jeans there. Payments for jeans? Ok people if you have to put your jeans on layaway you probably shouldn't be purchasing them, until you have the funds. I thought it was hilarious.
5)Trent and I finally got out on a much needed date. We got to see the new Harry Potter. We really liked it and it was so nice to be ALONE. The best part was it was at the dollar theater so we got to splurge a little on snacks. Junior mints, root beer, and some popcorn. YUM!
6)We had Taryn and Taylor over for dinner Sunday and it was a blast. We put toppings on our own personal pizza's and ate some amazing brownies I whipped up. Taryn and I couldn't stop eating them. I really am so grateful that I joined such a great family.
7)I went through my clothing and am heading to DI with a big bag full. Why is it so hard to let things go...even if you don't wear them for years? I don't know, it sure feels good to clean house though.
8)It became very clear to me this past week that Trent and I are not play/theater people. Sorry theater buffs but we are not you. I just really don't like plays. Or the Shakespearean Festival or going to see musicals. I just don't get it. Trent could not be more happier with my hate for the this type of thing. He loves that I am not going to drag him to these throughout our marriage. ha ha. There is my opinion out in the open. I am not one to share my opinion much with others. Mostly if its negative I try to keep it to myself.
9)I was putting Evelyn's jammies on the other night and she looked at me and said. "Mommy I love you, we are family, we are friends". Then she hugged and kissed me. Its moments like this that really make all the hard work in parenting so worth it.
10)Evelyn, and I can't stop playing and singing songs from Tangled. We are dying to see it again. Can't wait until it comes out on video this month. Mandy Moore is very talented. Evelyn picks up on the words of songs after hearing it one time. I will play a new song for her and she knows the words right away. She is so smart:)

Seven Wonderful Months:D

This is a little late but Lyla turned 7 months old on the 15th. She is at such a fun age. Here is some 7 month old facts about her:
1)She is so close to crawling and likes to hold this downward dog pose with her bum in the air, pretty dang cute.
2)She is starting to make ba-ba-ba sounds. And mmm-mmm sounds while she is eating her solid food.
3)She sleeps on her stomach almost all the time and loves it. Thankfully that has helped her bald spot out, it is almost grown in completely. Finally.
4)She loves Baby Einstien more than ever.
5)She loves vanilla wafers and her sippy cups with water.
6)She truly is one happy baby.
7)She looks more & more like Trent to me lately.
*Sidenote: Lyla has more sensitive skin than Evelyn, so I switched to Aveeno baby wash and lotion. Holy smokes, a miracle worker. I have never felt skin so soft before. Now she doesn't get any more dry patches. I thought I would never like anything more than Johnson's brand but now I swear I will never go back to Johnson's (at least for my babies) even if they smell really good.

The weekly 10 :D

There has been lots happening here in the last week. Here is what we have been up doing this week:
(I am trying to be better blogging at what is going on in our life as a family so I am making a goal to shoot a weekly 10 update on here to remember what happens years from now)
1)Evelyn is on a whole new level of....well how do I say it nicely? Driving us crazy. She won't stop climbing all over Trent. And her new language is Wining 24/7. She currently is treating Lyla like she is a rag doll, and loves to ride her like she is a horse..Yep, she is definitely almost 3.
2)Lyla is moments away from crawling herself. It will happen any day now. She is also making lots of fun talking noises. She is our little cuddle bug.
3)We had been planning it for at least a year. Once we got our tax returns this year, we would sell my car and get an SUV. Oh man we were excited...MOSTLY ME!! We looked so much on KSL. And found some beauties = 2007 Yukons, black and in great shape. We showed up to test drive one. And one of the guys at the dealership took it for a test drive to St. George or something. A little disappointed we went home and found some more on KSL we were going to test drive on Mon. However, on Sunday....we got to thinking. All of the sudden it occurred to us that we have gone this long with out having a larger vehicle. We could probably just hang on to my Saturn for a while longer. Trent and I agreed to think about it the whole day. Went to church and guess what every speaker/teacher was talking about? Money, & needs and wants. Yep, thanks HF for sending us a pretty clear message that right now is not the time. Probably in the near future. Even though I am still sad about it, we feel very confident about our decision. It made me really proud of us. Instead we are using the money towards things we need. And Trent gave me a good chunk to spend. So, I have been shopping to my hearts content. It's pretty fun. We also got Trent's windshield replaced in the truck and a spanking new car seat for Lyla. She is in heaven now on rides.
4)Got a parking ticket on our the truck parked in front of our house. Blast those stupid BYU police that are out and about at 2 am. We only have one parking pass now. And forgot it was in the saturn and not in the truck at the time. We still think its pathetic that we can't park at our own place without a stupid pass. ugg.
5)Trent is more than 1/2 way done with his online BYU class...he is cruising. And today his couselor called him to tell him great job on his effort:D
6) I bought 2 swimming suits today for $50 at Modbe...they are very cute and amazing. I will be so ready to move down to the HOT NEVADA SUN. Also found a lovely pair of capri workout pants at Nordstrom. That I LOVE. I never shop at department stores...they are so expensive. These pants will be worth the $45 though.
7) I am earnestly trying to pack, prepare for my pilates class, improve my photography skills, clean my house, feed my kiddos, work out, & spend alone time with my amazing husband. it is tough.
8)Went to DI and found some great cookbooks, material for crafting, & dumped some of my junk off there.
9)Pretty sure I broke my toe yesterday. I don't really remember what happened but, know I rammed my foot into the wall. Today I found a bruised/ fat toe. It's been hard to walk on.
10)Got called to be a RS teacher, and am very excited about it. Only 2 months of teaching:D
