Pretty Scary Stuff........

This past Wed. I didn't have much going on so I decided to drive up to my brother Isaac's place in Sandy, UT. My mom was up visiting them because they just had a baby. I got in the car and drove to Sandy. I was pretty nervous cause there was lots of traffic and Evelyn was really fussy. I don't drive much on my own in busy cities, usually Trent is at the wheel. After hanging out I thought I had better go and beat the rush hour traffic. I was doing fine on the way home...felt pretty good about driving. I was in the far left carpool lane going about 65 when I heard a thumping/helicopter noise. I thought it could possibly be a tire..I realized it was me when my car dropped on the right side. I started to fishtail back & forth and almost hit the side of the carpool lane wall. I looked into my rearview mirror, and saw my tire rool off and almost hit the car behind me! Finally I tried to stay calm and gained control. I knew I had to get through the other lanes and off the road fast. So, I put my blinker on and tried to hurry and get over. I just prayed people were out of the way. Luckily I was able to get off the road fairly easy. The whole time I was just trying to stay calm and remember what Trent told me what to do in case I ever had a blowout. I made sure I didn't slam on the break, just barely pumped them. After I pulled off to the side of the road...I put the car in park, looked back at Evelyn. Then I just lost it..bawled like a baby. It all hit me what could have happened, what did happen, how Evelyn could have been hurt. EVERYTHING!! I soon called Trent at work. "Autozone this is Trent"..."It's Tara..(crying voice) I just lost a tire on the road..it was so scary!!" Soon he was my hero and came to rescue us. He changed my tire and put on the spare. (We couldn't believe that could happen. We had just gotten those tires like 4 months ago. They were flawless it seemed.) I followed him back home while he drove Evelyn in my car. Another thing that made me nervous was I didn't have my wallet with me. I never ever forget it. But, did that day. That would have been bad if I didn't have my license and got into a wreck or something. Well, that is my crazy story. I am so grateful we weren't hurt and for Heavenly Fathers help and that I was able to stay calm and think clearly. I feel so blessed:)

That is scary... I think you and Evelyn were being watched over. Maybe that is because even though you are a big girl with a little girl your Mother still prays for all of her children. That is my guess anyway... its what I do.

I am glad all is ok and the Trent could come to your rescue.

Ahhh! Tara! That is so scary. It sounds like you handled it well, though. Thank goodness for husbands who come to our rescue when cars go crazy! So glad you and Evelyn are okay!
