Summer Fun

We have been really busy this summer. Swimming fun, A fun AZ trip where we got to see great friends and Great Grandma Leslie & Grandpa Ron. We ate out on their patio and it was charming. Wish we could see them more often. I almost didn't put the one up of me and the girls in the pool, cause the shadows are so bad, and that drives me crazy. But, want to remember swimming with my friend Amy!!

Forth Of July (Belated)

FOURTH OF JULY WAS GREAT THIS YEAR IT STARTED OFF BY ME DOING A PHOTO SHOOT OF THEM. I THOUGHT I GOT SOME GREAT ONES. WE HAD MY PARENTS & BROTHER TY OVER FOR A BBQ, AFTER THAT TRENT, EVELYN, & I WENT OUT TO DO SOME RATHER LAME FIREWORKS. STILL HAD TONS OF FUN. THAT WAS THE WRAP UP OF OUR HOLIDAY. WE JUST CHILLED THE REST OF THE NIGHT INSIDE. WE DIDN'T MIND MISSING THE BIG FIREWORKS. WE WOULD RATHER HAVE OUR KIDS IN BED SLEEPING HAPPILY THAN KEEPING THEM UP AND HAVING THEM CRY. THEY WILL HAVE PLENTY OF YEARS TO SEE THE FIREWORKS.

Weekly Ten....AND GO!!

1)Our little Lyla turned ONE on Friday the 15th. Yes, it has been a fast, fast year. But, she is at such a fun (demanding, but fun) age now. We celebrated by going out to dinner and trying to get her to fall in love with ice cream...NO LUCK. I am not bummed she doesn't like to eat sweets yet. Also went to Forever 21 to exchange some stuff. Came away with 2 awesome new maxi dresses.
2)Sliced my finger up pretty good while packing my pilates class gear into my trunk. I think it was from the metal on the top of my trunk. I was getting light headed (what I do whenever I cut my finger/hand) grabbed a pillowcase from my car and drove home with one hand. Felt sick the rest of the day. Probably should have gone to the doc for it but didn't it healed up just fine though.
3)Packed all day Monday for our Mesa, AZ trip.
4)Drove to Mesa, AZ we were there until Saturday. Trent had to go to some training for work with a software program. We wanted to tag along.
5)Saw our awesome friends Chase & Nicole Woods for a little bit at a church building.
6)Settled into our hotel.
7)Almost killed myself the next day with 2 very active girls in our hotel room. So, in the afternoon, drove to a mall across the street and met up with another awesome friend Lori Frost. Trent arrives back at hotel.. took off to meet our other awesome friends Amy & Spencer Shiefer at Cheesecake Factory. This is my new fav place to eat. There Salmon was TOOOO DIEEE FOORRR!! Plus we got a little extra
8)Went and explored Target the next day to get out of the hotel. Took the girls swimming at the hotel pool. Trent arrived back at hotel, took off to go to our awesome thrice friends Lori & Allen Frost's home to have dinner. Amazing pizza & company.
9)Friday (Lyla's b-day) we went swimming at Amy Shiefer's mother's home. It was lots of fun and we played for a while. I love getting together with really good friends.
10)Sat. We drove to Surprise, AZ to see my Grandma Leslie & Grandpa Ron. We never get to see them. And since we were close we just had too. She is so cute my Grandma, she made us the perfect Brunch meal out on her terrace & the misters were spraying, they live on a golf course, it was so heavenly and fun for the girls. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Leaf. We love you so much!! Then Drove Home.
*REALIZED THAT MY GPS THAT TRENT GOT ME FOR MOTHERS DAY IS THE BEST PRESENT EVER. OH MAN IT REALLY TAKES THE STRESS OUT OF TRAVELING. IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE ONE I SUGGEST THEM TO ALL.

The Weekly Ten :D

1)Evelyn burned her hand really bad on a piece of metal that Trent welded about 5 minutes before she touched it. I was inside & heard a loud scream. It was so sad and her first burn ever. She wouldn't take her hand out of a pot of ice water for hours on end. I felt so helpless and sad for her. After many bandages & aloe vera gel she is doing much much better. PHEW...
2)Lyla become much more independent as she is officially weaned from breastfeeding now. It is such a bitter/sweet thing. But, I am feeling a little more free now. Bring on the dates, temple, and hopefully an out of town gettaway with my hubbs.
3)Celebrated Lyla's first birthday Sat. Her bday is this week on the 15th. However we will be out of town in Mesa, AZ. Trent is getting sent down there for work, to learn an estimating program. So we are making a family trip out of it all. Excited to see some old friends and my grandparents. WAHOO!! Plus most of it is payed for, YES.
4)Stayed up super duper shmooper late to finish Lyla's one year bday cake. My sis Kylee has just started to make cakes and wow...she is amazing but oh man do they took time. It took us so long to make it cause we had to watch the kids and bake & bake. Photo to come soon.
5) I ordered some clothes and need to send them back....too big. It makes me feel good to drop down in some size. I still can't believe I way less than I have in years and years. OH MAN DOES IT FEEL GREAT:D But took lots of hard workouts.
6)Had a crazy crazy rainstorm here yesterday. I have never ever seen it rain that hard here. It was really fun to see and refreshing for sure. Love desert rain!! We take every drop we can get.
7)Started using an exercise ball for my pilates class....holy cow. that was such an amazing workout. I WAS SO SORE. My stomach has never been so sore. Gotta love the outline of muscles I am starting to see in my upper stomach. Didn't know that was possible after my c-sections. It is my friends it is.
8)Celebrated the 4th of July by having my mom, dad, and brother Ty come over for a bbq. It was lots of fun. Lots of great food and relaxing with family. We ended the day by doing our own poppers & fireworks outside. Evelyn loved it but I was afraid she was going to set someone/something on fire with a sparkler.
9)Attended a baby shower for my awesome friend Amanda. She is the cutest prego girl I have ever ever seen. Can't wait to meet her sweet baby Conegher.
10)Made the decision to be so much more cleaner around my house. And pick it up frequently. I get stressed when its messy so Trent and I decided to change the way we live. Most of it is me and the girls. Wish me luck.

Heard Around The House:

sharp screams when Evelyn is trying to take a toy away from her
Ma Ma, just about all day long. mostly when she
Evelyn: Mommy your taking too long.
Cows come from milk.
Bees make honey, not rollypollies
Peas come from eggs.
Bananas come from pigs.
I just don't feel really good so I keep crying the whole time.
Singing: I'm the perfect daughter, I'm the perfect daughter. You are huh? hmmm don't think so. he he Apparently she got this from the movie Mulan, she has been watching this nonstop.
We are sitting on the couch one day, and she saye this:
Evelyn: Someday I'm gonna be a boy.
My Response: Actually your a girl, and will stay one cause Heavenly Father created you.
Evelyn: Well someday I'm gonna turn into a daddy & cut my hair.
My Response: Actually you get to become a mommy and have girl hair with kids. It's really fun.
*See 10 years ago if your kid said this to you you wouldn't worry, but now well, times are crazy and well. Some parents teach that its ok to choose what you want to be. Not in this household. I was a little worried but soon reminded myself that she is only 3.
*The cutest moment ever, just now as I was typing this post, Evelyn says to Trent. Daddy when are you gonna marry me? Trent said right now....and they put music on & danced and danced. I was about to cry and recorded it. HERE COMES THE PART WHERE I HOLD UP A SIGN & YOU ALL SAY: AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

The Weekly Ten

1)Was driving home and saw the biggest red snake ever, crossing the road....yep I live in the desert alright!!
2)While we were draining Lyla's bath one night she decided to leave us a little present....You guessed it. She pooped out a pretty good log...with well all of her whole corn & peas she doesn't chew yet...Sorry TMI right. I made Trent get it..he he.
3)Evelyn's swimming lessons ended. Made some progress. We took her to the pool today with just us four and well, she jumped off the diving bored to me and was doing way better than she did in her class. Good Job Evelyn.
4)Found me some great finds today at a yard sale. It's my favorite Sat. morning activity to do with my mom. We almost always find neat stuff. I got a cute little picnic table for the girls, a princess cash register for Evenly. And some classic VHS movies. Win, Win.
5)Lyla is almost completely weaned...exciting but kinda sad. I thought she would take a while but she seems to take a bottle of whole cows milk just fine. It will be fun to have more freedom though. Trent & I are planning a trip kiddoless in Aug. We will see if Lyla can be completely done by then....I think she will no problem.
6)Trent started running before work. He has been wanting to lose some weight but school/work in Provo made it tough. He gets up at 4:45 am to go running before work. I am so proud of him, way to go honey, that is early. He says he feels great and in return is eating healthier. I love how exercise just has a snowball effect once you get into it.
7)We put up Lyla's baby swing outside. It's an early b-day present, she is in heaven and loves it. Now if we can only get this place to cool down, so we can use it more.
8)Tonight Trent made our first successful batch of popcorn from our wirly pop popcorn machine. This thing is so cool. My good friend Amy had one in Provo and made the best kettle corn. I bought Trent one of these for Father's Day. I burnt batch after batch. Until Trent looked up instructions online and tada delicious popcorn. Great job Trent.
9)I spent almost the whole week not getting on facebook, and you know what? It felt pretty dang good. Sometimes in life we get so caught up on the computer. I don't spend tons of time daily on there, but just wanted to prove to myself that I am stronger than the natural man...feels good.
10)Had a baby shower for my sister in law Annie and baby Rodney. he got some really cute boy stuff....makes me want a little Trent someday.

High School Flashback

Dinner With My High school Friends Katie & Cassidy was just what the doctor ordered for me Thurs, we had a blast. Cassidy currently lives in Hawaii so we don't get to see her much. We talked & laughed and did it some more. Ate at Los Lupes in Mesquite then ran to Walmart to grab a few things. I just heart good friends, who love you for who you are!! I felt like we were in high school again!! Thanks ladies.
