1) Last weekend Trent and I got away and went to Samari 21 for dinner and then to Man of Steel. It was a great movie and fun to try the Japanese restaurant. We got to sit by Ashley Perkins and her cute family. She has two boys the same ages as our girls. We left our kids and they brought theirs. The cook made the food in front of us which wasn't very cool in my opinion.
2) We took the girls to see Monsters University down here in Overton, which was a joke. The couldn't hear or see the movie so it was a waste of money and time. Camille (Trent's mom) invited us to go see it again in Mesquite with Ty & Annie's kids, her & Rod, Taryn & Madysen Messer. The kids were all good and we got to sit in our own seats and enjoy the movie. Totally worth the trip and I will not be rushing to the Overton theater anytime soon. I don't think it is worth it for any movie.
3) It is so hot HERE about this time of year I say to myself, why? Why do we live here? and then I think about the weather the rest of the year and I get my answer pretty fast. lol The winter's here are divine in my opinion.
4) I am in love with my two chickens they just roam my yard and eat all my bugs for me and my scraps from meals. And provide me with plenty of eggs. It is pretty awesome ;) Only downside is their poop but every animal does that. The girls and Trent are enjoying them too.
5) I have been chalk painting it up this last week. Still trying to get my house the way I want it to look. Getting close and almost finished with every room. I have a few more big things to paint and then I will feel complete for a few years at least.
6) Trent has spent lots of his week ripping his dads 1970 F-100 Ford truck. He finally got it ready to paint and his dad is super excited. That is a good son right there:) I love how Trent just puts his mind to something and then gets it done. One of his best qualities. Rod is super excited!
7) Trent roasted this week doing 4 ten hour shifts and died. Uhh I don't know how he does it.
8) Lyla is talking so much and is the sweetest little thing, until Evelyn gets upset with her and then she screams in her face and hits her. But, sometimes Evelyn deserves it of course. All I hear every day is " I wanna be first", "She hit me", "Your so mean to me Mom (Evelyn)".
9) Trent and I realized this week that we don't leave our kids enough. We have two easy going kids and we need to spend more time together and leave them. Go overnight somewhere ya know. The money part holds me back a little, but I am already thinking of where and when we can take off and go.
10) Evelyn just finished her 2nd week of swimming lessons and is finally starting to put her face into the water and become comfortable with it. Which took awhile after last summer when the lifeguards who were doing swimming lessons let her slip off the wall and I had to race over there and grab her out. Teresa is doing great with her. I wish we would have found her sooner.
